Health Network
Des Moines, Iowa (founded 1998)
Mercy Health Network (MHN) is an integrated system of member
hospitals and other health and patient care facilities-united
into one operating organization to improve the delivery of
health care services to the people of Iowa and surrounding
communities. Mercy Health Network, is sponsored by Catholic
Health Initiatives, Denver, Colorado, and Trinity Health,
Novi, Michigan.
Mercy Medical Center
Clinton
Clinton, Iowa (founded 1889)
Mercy Medical Center-Clinton, with both north and south campuses,
is the hub of healthcare for a four-county, two-state area
within the Iowa/Illinois Mississippi Valley. Traditional hospital
services are located at the north campus. Mercy has more than
50,000 patient visits each year and is licensed for 147 acute
care beds. The cath lab and PCU were recently renovated and
remodeled. Mercy is building a new cancer center scheduled
for opening in fall of 2004. A new dual energy linear accelerator
with MLC and Portal Vision will be part of the new project.
The Radiation services are affiliated with the University
of Iowa's knowledge and cutting edge technology.
South also houses (inpatient services, such as psychiatric
services) as well as the Bluff Terrace and Wyndcrest nursing
facilities, transitional care, senior services, home medical
equipment, renal dialysis and home care and hospice.
Mercy Medical Center
Dubuque
Dubuque, Iowa (founded 1879)
Mercy Medical Center's two hospitals serve the tri-state
area of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. Mercy offers specialized
acute services including: invasive cardiology, open heart
surgery, a Level II regional neonatal intensive care unit
and adult and adolescent behavioral health services. In addition,
Mercy Medical Center - Dubuque operates two hospital-based
skilled nursing units, a 40-bed nursing home, senior apartments
and assisted living, extensive rehabilitation services, home
health services, and a wide range of outpatient and community
services.
Mercy Medical Center serves the community through the Rural
Health and Safety program; Rural Outreach, which addresses
the health needs of medically underprivileged rural families;
and the Parish Health Ministry Program. In partnership with
the Medical Associates Clinic, Mercy Medical Center operates
10 rural clinics, an outpatient surgery center and an occupational
health service. Mercy also manages Central Community Hospital
in Elkader and has a joint operating agreement with the Gannon
Center for Community Mental Health.
Mercy Medical
Center New Hampton
New Hampton, Iowa (founded 1917)
Mercy Medical Center - New Hampton, a rural hospital in New
Hampton, Iowa, provides primary acute care and fourteen outpatient
specialities to 17,000 residents in and around Chickasaw County
in northeast Iowa. Mercy - New Hampton's organization includes
a contractual relationship with Chickasaw County for management
of the county's mental health services and The Heritage Residence,
a 35-bed residental care facility for mental health clients.
Home care is provided by Mercy Home Health and hospice care
is provided by Hospice of North Iowa.
Mercy Medical Center - New Hampton is affiliated with the
Mercy Health Network - North Iowa and The Midwest Rural Telemedicine
Consortium, one of the nation's largest telemedicine projects.
They are also a partner in the local Parent/Child Connection
organization, colloraborating with the local school systems
to address family education and health issues in the community.

Center North Iowa
Mason City, Iowa (founded 1993)
Formed in 1993 through the consolidation of North Iowa Medical
Center and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mercy Medical Center
North Iowa operates two campuses in Mason City and
employs more than 2,600 people across its network. It is the
major referral center for northern Iowa and southern Minnesota
and has a medical staff of more than 200 physicians and dentists
representing almost 30 specialties. The medical center's
primary service lines include the Birth Center, Cancer Center,
Heart Center, Dialysis Center, Emergency Center, Neuroscience
Center, behavioral services, rehabilitation/orthopedic services,
occupational health, aging services, women's services,
and Mercy Home Care and Hospice of North Iowa.
Mercy Medical Center North Iowa includes contract
affiliation with rural hospitals and health centers in Algona,
Belmond,
Britt,
Cresco, Emmetsburg,
Hampton, Iowa
Falls, New Hampton,
and Osage, and
four pharmacies. It also owns/manages 48 physician clinics
(family medicine, OB/GYN, pediatric, dermatology, neurosurgery,
internal medicine, optometry) located in Mason City and in
rural communities across North Iowa. Mercy Medical Center
North Iowa is a teaching hospital and hosts a family
practice residency program and a school of radiologic technology.
It also is a clinical site for students studying to become
medical laboratory technicians, nurses, paramedics, rehabilitation
technicians and perfusionists. In addition, the medical center
manages an adult day care center and community senior center.
Mercy Medical
Center Sioux City
Sioux City, Iowa (founded 1890)
Mercy Medical Center - Sioux City is a tertiary care facility and has grown into a regional center that meets the needs of a 33 county area. It serves as the designated trauma center for the region and provides a vital, lifesaving link to rural areas via Mercy Air Care, the hospital's helicopter ambulance service. The medical center also provides a full range of comprehensive medical services for patients from northwest Iowa, northeast Nebraska and southeast South Dakota.
Mercy Medical Center - Sioux City consists of the main hospital in Sioux City, two rural hospitals, a primary care clinic network, specialty care clinics and home health services. It also partners with other community healthcare providers to sponsor a regional cancer center, paramedic services, hospice services, a freestanding surgery center and a variety of other health services. The hospital also manages two rural hospitals, several rural primary care clinics and a long-term care facility. |
