Going home with your new baby is exciting — and overwhelming. You’ll be caring for your baby without the extra help you had in the hospital. But even though you’ll be leaving the hospital, you won’t be alone.

At Trinity Health Michigan, your care doesn’t end when you walk out our doors. We give you resources and support to prepare you for the weeks and months ahead. And our providers have years of experience in postpartum health concerns, including childbirth recovery and postpartum depression.

Postpartum Care at Trinity Health Michigan: Why Choose Us?

Our skilled nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives and obstetrician/gynecologists (OB/GYNs) specialize in caring for the physical and mental health needs of new mothers. We offer:

• Complete follow-up care: Our team provides skilled postpartum care and treatment for mothers who had complicated pregnancies or deliveries. And after your postpartum recovery, you receive seamless care for gynecology and women’s health needs.

• Emotional support: Our providers take postpartum mental health concerns seriously. At each visit, we answer your questions and screen for mental health concerns like postpartum depression, “baby blues” and anxiety. And you can contact us between appointments if concerns arise.
  
  
• Infant care guidance: Before you go home, our highly trained staff walks you through newborn care. We cover common questions like feeding, diaper changes, baths and what to do when your baby cries. And when questions come up after you go home, you can call your provider.

• Regular checks for you: Our OB/GYNs and nurses see you regularly to check your vital signs and ensure you’re healing.
• Complete baby exam: Your baby receives a thorough exam from one of our expert providers.
• Paperwork help: We help you with necessary paperwork, such as your baby’s birth certificate and Social Security card.
• Baby care resources: You receive resources with information about caring for your baby and what to expect in the first days.
